Samsung s10/note 10 removing fingerprint log in for banks

Back to my question: did they release an update for everyone, that disabled fingerprints because of Samsung? Or do they have a way of knowing what manufacturer phone the app is on, and they disabled fingerprint only for Samsung users?

Can't say for sure... My banking app still works as before the update but I'm sure they can tell which phone or OS is accessing their app.

I too got the update this morning and BOA still won't allow me to use fingerprints. So annoying. I'm considering deleting and reinstalling the app to see if that works.

I tried that... Still no fingerprint option.

Didn't work for me either. So annoying. I wonder if they think it is related to the October security patch, which I have not received yet on my AT&T variant. I only got the biometric update.

of course they know what OS; it's an Android app.

I meant a specific skin over Android telling them which device.

Your app must not be updated because they've definitely disabled fps access of us 10 users. Not related, but I hate the new layout of the app as well.

I just checked again this morning... still no fingerprint sign in. I don't use the app that often but it sucks having to put in your password every time you want to check something.

Yeah mine is same today , it worked the day I got the fingerprint update , weird and in the app a banner pops up saying its disabled because Samsung security to fingerprint

My PNC bank app says fingerprint is currently unavailable. but when I try to log in without fingerprint it still doesn't work. My phone DID receive a fingerprint update a day ago. Why is it still not working ?

The bank will have to reactivate it.

I did have to re-enable with Capital One, but Chase was not affected at all.

I sent BOA feedback.

Samsung already pushed the S10 patch out.

PS: - Android 10 beta includes the patch and has latest security updates from Samsung and Google.

I know, right? It's so annoying. I've sent feedback twice on this issue. I don't understand what their issue is now.

Possibly but the message specifically says it will be disabled until Samsung addresses the issue so I think they will bring it back. They are just taking their sweet time.

Fingerprint login is working again for my Bank of America app. I did get the October security update today on my phone as well so I'm thinking it was linked to that. I have the AT&T variant.
