Samsung s10/note 10 removing fingerprint log in for banks

So wait a minute--are the banks disabling fingerprint for EVERYONE because of this? How do they know if their app is on a Samsung phone vs. a Pixel, for example?

Some banks in the UK did actually disable fingerprints. Bloody buggers.

On another thread a few ppl said their bank apps disabled the fps option, even bank of America.

Oh really

Yessir! I'm not sure how many or anything. I just read that a couple people on here got notices, and saw an article somewhere about it. I thought Bank of America disabled as well, but I could be wrong about that.

BOA disabled fps. Today. After I installed the patch. Odd. And installed Android 10 which also includes the patch along with the Nov security.

Apps frequently turn off fps after adding it changing biometrics and fingerprints.

I assume others are disabling fps as well, not just banks.

Did Bank of America enable their finger print sign in yet? I did the fingerprint update and redid my prints, but I still don't see that option in the BOA app. All other banking apps are fine.

Mines working

I too got the update this morning and BOA still won't allow me to use fingerprints. So annoying. I'm considering deleting and reinstalling the app to see if that works.

Back to my question: did they release an update for everyone, that disabled fingerprints because of Samsung? Or do they have a way of knowing what manufacturer phone the app is on, and they disabled fingerprint only for Samsung users?
