samsung s2 tethering to tablet

I just got the galaxy tab pro 8.4, and would like to receive net from the phone, not rooted, im seeing lots of complications with lots of alternatives, can I do it with Bluetooth dependably, or is the power robbing wifi hotspot the best option?

The wifi hotspot should be good. Do you carry a charger? Just plug the phone in and use the tablet worry free .
