Samsung S20+ - charging problems on USB and wall adapter

I have a Samsung S20+. Most of the time I charge it using a wireless charging device on my dresser or using the wireless charging cradle in my GMC truck. Wireless charging seems to work fine. However, there are times when I need to be able to charge from a USB adapter - such as a 4 day trip that I took this weekend or when hiking/camping and I need to use a USB charger that is not wireless (I have done this for several years with no problem).

Right now, I am at the office trying to research and solve this issue. I have read the posts about cleaning the port, substituting USB cables and substituting USB 120v adapters. Tried them all. Also, I have confirmed that the cables and the wall adapters are working with other phones including my wife's S22. I have eliminated, I think, issues with cables (I use Anker and have confirmed with at least 4 cables that its not a cable issue). I have the Samsung wall adapters.

Here are more symptoms:
1) If I connect a USB to my computer with the phone off, it will showing charging. (Developer Mode - transfer files)
2) If I connect a USB to an adapter with the phone off, it will not show charging. (Developer Mode - transfer files)

3) If I connect a USB to my computer with the phone on, it will NOT showing charging but shows the phone in Explorer. (Developer Mode - transfer files)
4) 3) If I connect a USB to an adapter with the phone on, it will NOT showing charging. (Developer Mode - transfer files)

5) If I connect a USB to my computer with the phone on, it will NOT showing charging and does show phone in Explorer. (Developer Mode - charging mode)
6) If I connect a USB to an adapter with the phone on, it will NOT showing charging. (Developer Mode - charging mode)

Trying to track this down but need more ideas

Try a different USB cable. Sounds like the one you are using is for data connection only.

1) These are the same cables that I have used on this phone for several years when the phone would show charging whenever connected to USB adapter or computer regardless of whether the phone was on or off.

2) However, I did swap the cables used for computer v. USB adapter and no change.

3) If I have the phone off but connected to the computer, it shows charging and it continues to show charging when I power it up UNTIL the phone appears in Explorer.

Try safe mode if still having the issue and also in Samsung device care app there's a diagnostic menu where u can test the USB port
