Samsung Strat Notification LEDs ???

Has anbody noticed that the Samsung Stratosphere does indeed have 3 notification LEDs on the front sandwhiched between the earpiece speaker and the front facing camera? They're arranged in a grouping of two at the bottom and then a separate one on top. I haven't been able to find anything in the menu settings to turn these on. Are they even wired to the phone's motherboard? It would seem idiotic to include them on the phone but not connect them. Does anybody know of an App that would access these?

I'm brand new to Smartphones and the Android world.

Those aren't LEDs, they're the proximity and light sensors.

Has anyone though of maybe a BLN enabled kernel?

Says it doesn't work on this.... but more info can be found there, i've never tried to compile a kernel for an android on my box yet.

Yep. When on a cal I can cover them and make the screen go dark.
