samsung tab s2: it reboots when i run any application like firefox or chrom

it boots up perfectly, asks me my pin, then shows me the home page, however, when i tab on chrome/firefox, the tablet s2 just reboots!?
i already clicked on software update; i have the latest
battery is over 70% full now;
last week, it crashes whenever battery falls below 65%, it then worked after a full charge, and crashes once below 65%
then this morning, even above 70%, crashes whenever running any application
sounds like a bad battery?

ok, once i plug in the power cable, no more reboots
so battery is basically dead
issue closed.
