Samsung touch protection and smart stay (on if your face visible) sucks..

I have accidental touch protection turned on on my note 20 and it works fine.

The display blanks during a call when I have the phone sitting on the desktop. It's supposed to do this when you're on the phone with it next to your ear. A fix is to turn on Smart Stay. My phone doesn't know what smart stay is but I was told by a guru to find the call menu and turn on the feature that keeps the screen on if it sees your face.

That caused the Accidental Touch Protection to block access to my phone on when I received a call. It wouldn't let me at my screen unless I swiped exactly the way that it wanted. Swiping up as I usually do did nothing. Seeing symbols pointing left and right i tried swiping to the right but it didn't work. Swiping to the left eventually worked. But the caller was already gone. I couldn't even turn the speaker on to hear the caller (I can't automate that because I still don't know where the setting is to turn the damn speaker on when you get a call)
