This is awesome. Hopefully this will put to rest peoples qualms about their devotion to the community. I bet they stay on top of updates now too. They want to be the premier handset maker and with this device and policy they will be.

Yupper you got that right! I firmly believe this is where they are heading. It's just an assumption but things keep falling into place and this is huge. A HUGE manufacturer giving a dev phone to CM? lol thats insane (I mean that in a good way) never saw that happen ever.

I think it would be cool if they gave phones to the top 10 devs and let them build a custom ROM. Best one would become their new official UI on the phone. Could base it off votes or something...

It's great that Sammy gave away a phone for free, but are they doing anything software-wise to support CM? Like releasing source code for their drivers? That would be amazing..
