My boyfriend is using my old phone and has hidden apps in it is there a way to access them?

Welcome to Android Central! If the phone belongs to him now, then we can't help you violate another person's privacy. If the phone still belongs to you, and if you both had agreed that he'd follow some kind of ground rules (like not hiding anything from you), then you should just ask for the phone back and tell him to get his own phone.

If not related to what has already been said above, if the question is specifically what to do about rogue apps, I'm a fan of factory resets. Android phones are notoriously bad about update and securty patches (unless Samsung or Pixel) and I'd hate to not get all of the clutter out. If that's the issue - back everything up first and start over rather than hunting down loose apps.
