Oh well... You sell a product that doesn't live up to it's billing and this is what you get.
I don't get how the Fascinate not having Froyo equates to it not "liv[ing] up to it's billing".

I agree with you Chris. A supervisor just called me and we spoke at length about the rep's behavior on the phone and Samsung's posting of this on their website. She was more than helpful and even stated it might be in my interest to return my wife's and my Fascinates and exchange them for a different phone. Considering we were the first customers to buy these phones way back when they were released, and we are well outside of our 30 day exchange time, that was a nice gesture. Perhaps all is not lost for customer service.

They've changed the page back to say 2.1.
Just refer to the other posts... In the Verizon store when I purchased these phones the little placard beside it said "Will upgrade to 2.2". The sales rep even opened his little book to show the page you can find in an earlier post on the site verifying it was coming. I'm a smart enough shopper to research before I buy. So I knew when I bought the phone what was on it... BING included. However, the fact that here we are months away from that time and where's the update? I could really care less about the GPS issues, but the Flash support and the annoying battery drain and those capacitive buttons not staying lit up, those issues should have been addressed long ago. But like I said, as a responsible consumer I notch it up to lessons learned. HTC, Motorola, or gasp... Apple (assuming they get the iPhone 4) will get my business from now on.I don't get how the Fascinate not having Froyo equates to it not "liv[ing] up to it's billing".
Because it was touted as getting the update soon after it was released. The accessories they sold (like my home dock) says the output won't work until 2.2. It mentioned Flash when it was released. Some people may have bought the phone thinking they were getting those features soon. And by soon I don't mean 3-6 months (or who knows) down the road.
Wow! That's pretty pathetic for Samsung. They can obviously make a great phone (and great TV's - I have 3 Samsung's) but their software people suck.
See ya next year Froyo.

Unfortunately most companies do not make this easy on them, but based on the three different conversations...there is alot more information they do have they arn't telling us. At least in my thoughts.
It has to be something with the carriers at this point, I think Samsung has done it's part. I don't know if it's some sort of business agreement or what, I just know it's ridiculous.I too worked in a support team, even provided phone tech support for a web hosting company. We use to submit bugs all the time to our administrators and the developement team, most of the time these bugs weren't even looked at for at least a month. However our managers told us it doesn't matter, give them a date of 1 week and keep adding to that saying that ran into problems. Let me say we did get hung alot with it.
The issue i have with Samsung is that they have released 2.2. On the Tab, (almost the exact same hardware as the facinate just bigger screen) in Europe and in Canada. There is no logical reason i can find in my IT mind, or my software developer mind as to why they are delaying it's release so long except if they just intend to tease us with it forever and not release it.
