I remember that at some point the phone asked me this question and I believe I chose to save contacts on the sim.....but what if I wanted to change? how do I do this?

Oh and what option is better? I guess to save on sim is better as it frees up space on the phone?

last question.....Ive got numbers of friends etc but Im moving out of the country, moving from spain to somewhere else....and therefore leaving my sim behind. Best option would be to save my spanish friends numbers to phone right?

Advice please!!

Gracias!

I would save them on Google or the phone. Contacts take up very little space.

Save them to Phone and sync with your Google account. That way, when you switch phones you can format the old one and sync your new one and voil?! All your contact data is there.

Also, SIM cards don't hold all the info your phone does; if you restore contacts from SIM you usually lose joined contacts, long names, some data, etc.

Bare with me I am totally new to android and google plus, although I already had a google plus account. Ive synced the phone and it has uploaded some pics I had on it to my google plus account....these are not visible to people right?? I mean they upload but for others to see them I would have to share them, is that right? I dont want people seeing my photos!

How do you pros have the syncing set up? do you upload your photos to your google plus accounts or is it better (can it be done) to disable and only sync contacts?

thanks and sorry! :0

Make Google the default account for saving contacts. This will sync and restore all android devices and useful for all Google services. No point in using a sim card unless you are swapping between a smartphone and a non smartphone, which I don't see any reason for.

I had the same requirement. This is what i did.
Go to contacts - Click on the + icon and the first item is to choose where to store the contacts (Device, SIM or Gmail), Save a dummy contact for the first time.
Going forward, any contacts you create would be saved in the above default location.

Re: To change the location while saving contact

Goto contacts > Click on Add icon > Click on More fields > you will see on the top a drop down list to select the location(SIM1,SIM2,Phone etc).
Save a dummy name and later delete the dummy contact.
Next time when you save a contact. it will get changed to the new location.

As mentjoned above. My recommendation is to save to your main Google account so you never lose your contacts should you need to reset your phone or it gets lost.
