AC Question

i've had a blu life one x for a little over a year now.
recently, i upgraded from lollipop to marshmallow. i really like marshmallow except for the fact that it doesn't let me save contacts on my phone.
it makes me save it to my google account, doesn't give me the option to save it to my phone. i'm personally not a fan of this. i like to keep phone oriented stuff separated from everything else and vice versa.
so i removed my google account, saved the contact to my phone, added the google account again. i then had to add another contact, so again, i removed my google account, saved the contact to my phone, then added my contact but it removed the other contact i added previously. every time i remove my google account, it deletes my contact, even when i have sync settings turned off.
i'm not sure what to do here, i just want to save everything locally rather than my google account but i can't find any solution. can somebody please help me? i'd really appreciate it, thank you!!

Welcome to Android Central! When you add a new contact, does it merely default to the Google account, or is the Google account the only one you can select? In that new contact entry screen, tap the field that shows your Google account to see if you get a choice.

hi, i would not let me reply if i didn't have an account.
when i don't have a google account signed in, it defaults to my device. when i have a google account signed in, it defaults to the google account and doesn't give me any option to select, only if i have more than one google account signed in. it would show the google icon and "saving to ****@gmail.com"
am i doing something wrong?

Some phones just don't have a local Phone account to save to. When you're saving the contact after removing the Google account, what does it call the account you're saving to? Is it "Phone" or "Device"?

Phone and Device are the same thing -- it depends on the device which name they use.

I'm afraid I'm not sure what else to try. You could contact Blu's customer service to see if this is something inherent in phone's firmware: Contact Service. Chances are that the first person you talk to won't be technical enough to answer the question, so you may have to escalate to the next tier, or ask specifically for a tech support person.
