I have a problem with downloading files from One Drive onto my S10e device.

From One Drive, I selected my file and then I chose Save. My phone gave me the option to save the file to the following directory below.
Internal Storage/Download.

Whats really confusing, is when I open up Samsung My Files app, it shows the Categories section for Pictures, Documents, Downloads. But, using my phone to save my files from One Drive, it does not save my files to the Documents folder. But, instead offers to save it in the Internal Device/Download folder.

How can I make One Drive to save files onto my phone by choosing the Documents folder that is in the Categories section in the My Files app.

Tap the three dots next to a file you want to download, and then tap Save. You'll be presented with the Internal storage/Downloads folder. Now you can just tap the back arrow in the top left corner (if you use the back button in the navigation dock or the back gesture, it will close the download location selection) and it will put you into Internal storage. There you can choose the Documents folder or any other folder you want.

If you go into the My Files app, you should see a section called Categories. Under this, there is a Documents folder. My question is, where does this point to in the Internal Device since I cannot see a Documents folder when I navigate to the Internal Device directory.

The Documents choice under Categories searches for and shows you all of the files on the device that have a file extension commonly associated with a document (.pdf, .doc, etc.) regardless of what folder they are in. The result shows the name of the various folders that those documents are filed in. Essentially, the choices that are under Categories (Images, Documents, Videos, etc) are built in searches not actual folders.

It all makes sense now, thank you. However, I would like to know as to why there is no folder called Documents in the Internal Storage directory? Suppose I wanted to transfer all my files from my PC to my phone, but would not make sense to transfer them to the Download folder. It would make more sense to put them in a folder called Documents.

I do not use the OneDrive app for this. It's very restrictive and useless in most cases, especially when I have a specific place for different types of files, or if I need to download multiple files.

I use CX File Explorer. I've set up OneDrive as a location, Google Drive, and Dropbox. I'm allow to explore each, select files, move it copy to/from any location in my phone. I can copy between online services, from my phone to an online service, or from online services to my phone.

Saves a lot of frustration. OneDrive works okay for backing up photos, but that's about it. Since my camera saves to the SD card, it doesn't back those up for me, so I use a 3rd party syncing so as well.

Best of luck.

If I into the My Files app, would it be fine to create a new folder from the Internal Storage directory called Documents?
Would this cause problems with my phone?
