Hey, I'm sorry I came across so harshly; I really am. It's just that when you laugh at someone's supposed ignorance...you'd better be sure you're right, know what I mean?

I ordered a screen protector when I first purchased it, but never installed it.
I've been contemplating if I will need it. I always keep it in the case, and I'm very careful when using it. I'm sure within 2 years I will probably end up with a newer tablet.

My big thing is why risk it. I have a Steinheil on mine and you'd never even know. I think many don't like them because of experiences with bad quality protectors. Spend a bit extra, get a good one, and forget about it. What's $20 after spending $400-500 on a tablet?

No problem m8.... It's the Internet and a forum.... Not real life.... Only really lost a few seconds of rest over it, then the mes kicked in and.... Good night!!!!

Maybe later builds of the eVo had/have Gorilla Glass, it was never mentioned on there site till the 004 builds started shipping.

Yeah, I remember in the beginning there was a lot of discussion on the forums about the EVO and gorilla glass, and it wasn't confirmed anywhere. It must have been confirmed later after I stopped caring.

Mine came with an imperfection in the glass... feels like a piece of dirt, but is invisible unless you use a magnifying glass in which case it looks like a very small scratch or chip. The screen protector I got from Verizon makes it unfeelable and it remains invisible. I think I will keep a screen protector on.

I only have the book cover case and do not intend to get a screen protector. I had an iPad for a year with no screen protector, and it was fine.

I think Zagg InvisibleShield is the ugliest piece of crap I have ever seen, and I make a point to tell everyone that when I see them putting that stuff on. It makes the device look horrible with that egg shell texture. Here is my take on screen protectors...if the screen protector modifies the look of the device in any substantial way (as Zagg does) and you leave the protector on for the life of the device, then your whole experience with the device is with that screen protector. You basically have a lessened experience for the life of the device for fear of getting a scratch, which will probably never happen. Isn't it better to enjoy the device the way it was designed without a screen protector that changes the look?

I saw someone the other day with an iPhone that was in a horribly large case. He no longer had an iPhone, he had a brick. For what? So that when he finally takes off the case before selling it, he can say, "Oh that case nicely protected my phone for two years. It looks so good". Yeah, too bad he never got to see the device for all that time it was buried underneath that horrible case.

Zagg InvisibleShields are crap. They are the absolute worse screen protectors out there. I believe they are the reason some are so against screen protectors. The best ones are invisible once you put them on.

I agree with this sentiment. But I put a Phantom Skinz on my Pre, because it was all plastic and looked fragile, and also because it was a fingerprint magnet. I loved the Skinz. Nearly eliminated the fingerprint problem, and it looked slick, and it kept the Pre shiny-new until I bought a newer phone. So I just got a Phantom Skinz for my new Photon. Dunno if it really needs it, being gorilla glass that's slightly below the edge of the phone, rather than plastic that bulges out a tad. But it's nearly invisible, and has that same finger-print-shedding quality I liked with the Pre.

I put a zagg on mine. Can't even tell, if you say it looks like crap maybe you should have someone else put it on. I had best buy put mine on, as I do with all my devices. Having a zagg on does not lesson my "experience "at all. Gorilla glass is scratch resistant, not scratch proof. I rather protect my 600 dollar device. To each his/her own.

I have put on many and have no problems doing it. Compared to the other premium screen protectors out there, Zagg is crap. Maybe you've never encountered any others, but Zagg is absolute bottom of the barrel, bad feel, bad texture, bad clarity. In all honesty, not trying to be a jerk, try a Steinheil, or any other quality protector, and you'll see that I speak the truth. Zagg does well because they're in Best Buy, or they would be out of business right now.

Every Zagg InvisibleShield I have seen has that "egg shell" texture to it. To me, that is horrible. Maybe they have a new version that doesn't look like that, but I haven't seen it. The only screen protector I would ever put on it would have to look completely clear and not change the texture or view of the screen at all. I have something like that for my EVO 3D, but I don't know if that exists for the SGT 10.1

No, all Zagg's look like that. Some people just don't realize there are things 100% better out there. Hell, just stop at a ghost armor kiosk in the mall, and those are so much better. I stick with Steinheil Ultra Clears. They make them for the SGT, and once they're on. Its impossible to tell. Completely clear, completely smooth. Just like glass

Great, thanks for mentioning that brand. I'll take a look at the Steinheil Ultra Clears.

I will give it up to you dude. When i bought this tablet 2 weeks ago I had best buy put a zagg on it right out of box. I never even touched or looked at the screen once. My new shield will be delivered today so i just took the zagg off. I cannot believe how beautiful this screen is. This is first time I am seeing it, lol. I hope the crystal screen protector is as good as you say.

I have complete confidence that you'll love it. That's why I push them so hard in threads like this. Many think Zagg is the only good protector, when in fact they're probably the worst.

One bit of advice. I am assuming you've never put on a dry application protector before. Its simple, but there are two big points. One is make sure everything is completely clean with no breeze to kick up dust. Many people use the bathroom and turn the shower on to medium heat to put just a touch of moisture in the air. I don't personally though, just a really clean workspace. Two is work all the bubbles out as you are putting it on. These are not like wet application protectors. Bubbles will not gradually disappear.

If I recall correctly, I was not a big fan of their instructions. I think they say to pull the whole film off the adhesive side and put it on. DO NOT DO THAT! It will make it more difficult. Line it up first to see the fit. Then peel back about 2 inches from the top of the film and start from there. Once you get it set, slowly start pulling the film out so that more and more starts sticking, while working ALL bubbles out as you go. If a bubble gets trapped, pull the protector up to that point.

I'm making it sound worse than it actually is, but I watched a video review by a guy who had no clue what he was doing and he just plopped it on and then tried to work bubbles out. Then he complained and said it was because the screen flexes. I have put about 20 of these on across various devices and have never had a single bubble, or issue. The only way you can even tell my Transformer has one is because of the cutout around the camera.

Good luck, let me know how it goes
