Scratched screen already - use a screen protector

Oh ok. That red tho looks bright. But you know pics can make it look different than it actually is in person. I'm definitely bout to by the blue now. Ebay selling for like $25. Lol. How long did it take for yours to arrive?

Yeah I gave in and did the 30 day trial of prime. So it says it's guaranteed to be delivered by Saturday. Alright I'll leave you alone now lol. Unless you pop up with another cool case lol. Thanks again:)

No worries, I love talking phones, screen protection and cases! That's what we're all here for!

Awesome. Same here:) And I'm definitely looking forward to your update on that screen protector you tried.
Jewels, I've sized down to a thin case with a leather sleeve, I go back and forth depending on how I feel lol. Sometimes I'll even put on a flip case. Oh and so far the screen is doing great, guess I really won't know until after a drop or scratch situation. The one thing that's noticeable is the screen is easier to wipe off and seems to have a slick shiny look to it. Almost like a tire with tire shine on it. Oh here's my case setup today.

Phone looking fabulous lol:D Glad to hear screen protector working good so far. And lol yes I like to switch up cases myself. Most of my case colors have the color blue in it. My fav color lol. Right now it's in a cheap black and ink blue colored case that I bought on eBay. More durable than I thought it would be. That Youmaker case you showed me supposed to come sometime tomorrow so I'll let you know what I think:)

It's called YouMaker, I like it because it's a heavy duty military grade case but it doesn't seem to add too much bulk. It's a good price because it's been on sale for about 2 weeks. Here's a link.

I owe you a big fat thank you for showing me this case. Mine came this morning and I absolutely love it. My favorite so far. And the color remind me of my blue coral note7. Love how it feels in hand. Especially when watching videos etc. Here a few pics of mine:D the pic showing the front shows it's true color. The pic of the back makes it look darker blue.

Thanks for the warning.

This is my first note and having bought a Whitestone Dome Glass screen protector and installed it on day 2 I was starting to think I was being overprotective. Especially since I've never shattered or scratched a phone before.

This post is a healthy reminder how important an immaculate screen is to think phone. Glad I played it safe.

(Also, the protector is worthy of the hype: it's excellent.

How was it putting that on??? I've had several Notes but only applied 1 protector myself on my Note 4, but of course that was a really simple install. Any pointers?

Nice! Yes I love the bezel it creates to hold while watching in landscape too! I'm glad you like it and for the price you can't beat it! I miss blue coral maybe Samsung will bring it back for the note 9? But it needs to wrap around to the front bezel no need to have the black bezel if they make a coral back IMO.

Here's my thin case and sleeve tribute to the note 7.

I like having a screen protector in place because particles of hard grit are everywhere. The earth's crust is composed largely of materials that are quite hard. That "dirt" gets ground into fine particles by natural erosion, human activity, etc., and is everywhere, including the air when there is wind, etc. No place is totally safe except, perhaps, a high level clean room.

Anyhow, you can pretty much count on particles of hard grit being in your pockets, purses, etc., at all times.

If the tip of your X-pen traps one of these particles between it and the phone's screen, even that will cause a scratch.

The fact that hard grit is everywhere is why you need to gently brush a lens off before cleaning it with a cloth or the like. Just wiping a dusty lens, or a phone screen, will push any hard grit particles present against, and then grind them across the surface, causing tiny scratches.

And if a larger particle of grit gets wiped against a lens or phone screen, it can leave a deep scratch.

Around here, it's often dry, and often windy. So folks here are all too familiar with grit being everywhere. But grit is ubiquitous everywhere except special clean-rooms.

So as much as I dislike the loss of sensitivity and the change in the look of the phone caused by most screen protectors, I live with it. And the same goes for using a protective case. The one I use is big, ugly, and totally destroys the look and feel of this beautiful phone, but I've had phones saved from extreme falls by good cases, so I put up with it.

Some phone maker should design a phone and case/screen protector at the same time such that the phone's look and feel are better with the case in place. The case should be part of the original design. They could sell these cases in different colors or feels, and the customer would end up with a better look and feel as well as a way to renew their screen surface and outer phone body in case of damage.

They spend a huge amount of effort to make the phone look great, feel good in the hand, and respond well to the touch screen, and then nobody uses the phone that way. That seems like a huge error in the overall design of pretty much every phone out there.

Yes. I agree with you. It was perfect like they had it on the note7. Heck I loved the deep sea blue on the note8 but of course the U.S. didn't get that. Like you said hopefully they will bring the color back with the note9. Thats a nice case and sleeve. Yeah cant beat the price. Next week I might get the red.

Can confirm from 1st test that at least my combination of protection has worked. I was late for the train walking from work through the city (D.C) by the time I got about 150yds from the station I saw the train was already there. I broke into a jog when after about 5 seconds I noticed my earbuds cord jerked and I no longer heard the podcast I was listening to. In my haste I thought my quick movement had jarred my cord from my headphone jack so I reached into my fleece jacket pocket and noticed no phone! I stopped immediately looking around in confusion both at the train and around the area for my phone and then I saw it on the ground about 20ft away in front of the Starbucks. I ran back grabbed the note 8 and continued my run to the train without checking the phone. I made the train just in time! I finally checked my phone pulling it out of its sleeve (the black one I posted a few posts earlier on this thread) and my phone screen was fully in tact! It was in the black and gold slim case I also posted in the same pic with the black sleeve.

So yes the combo of the sleeve, slim case and Nano liquid screen protector survived a 3ft fall onto pavement while running and jerking away from my headphones. Which by the way if I had my blutooth earpiece in I would've possibly ran an additional 30ft away before I would've even noticed my phone had fallen out of my pocket!
Headphone jack 1, blutooth 0! Lol

I'm back lol. I like to change cases like once a day lol. Sometimes twice. Depending on my mood. Well since I've gotten this case on Saturday I have not changed cases. I tried last night. I took it off to put another one I like on and well I just had the urge to put this one back on. Since I got the blue one, I'm going to order the red one tonight. Still same price. This case is just AWESOME:D I thought had a Youmaker case before on a past phone but don't exactly remember. Lol. But I love it.
