I updated my Note 10.1 2014 to lollipop a few weeks ago.
Ever since the update I have noticed that the screen's max brigthness is not as bright as it used to be before the update. It's not an issue in most apps, but when watching some dark movies on Netflix or other video app, sometimes the videos are too dark and I lose all details. The max brightness setting before updating to lollipop used to be fine.
I turned off the auto-brightness and tried all the screen mode settings, but it did not help.
Has anyone noticed this problem?

I haven't noticed this issue on mine, although I don't watch Netflix or do anything relatively dark, so.

When I first updated the tablet it checked the auto I removed the auto brightness. I just removed the checkmark to my own setting. Now even when I turned the tablet completely off it restores my setting. It is an easy fix and it does not seem to affect battery time.

I just updated to 5.1.1. I noticed the screen wasn't as bright (and I normally keep it below half way to full brightness). The auto bright was on so I unchecked it. But what even made me "notice" the screen brightness was the fact that it was (just barely) flickering. Not constantly and it took me a couple minutes for me to be sure it was actually changing. The back and forth change was barely noticeable and had it been daylight, I probably wouldn't have noticed it. I haven't cleared the cache yet.
