Screen burn in

That's why I said it's dependent on use (I.e. Activating the pixel). I don't doubt you haven't had it happen. Someone that turns the screen off a lot, does a lot of gaming, views things at full screen, etc will keep all of the pixels changing. If you set the phone down with the screen on a static display for hours on end, then you could get some image retention for a little while after.

If noticed it once or twice now on my V20, but it went away fairly quickly.

Using Sony Xperias since first device on Android, and repeat, never seen such a thing ever, and never heared from friends , all of them were LCD. Trying to choose new device and V20 very pleasant, but first shattergate and now retention .
I use mine for long periods in the car on navigation. No image ghosting/burn in to date.

I dropped it down a double flight of wooden stairs last week . No damage to camera glass or anything else.

'Shattergate' isn't a real thing. And the possibility of image retention is there for many displays.

I've had 2 G2s, 2 Gpad 8.3s, a G4, and a V10, and have never seen this. I actually installed a screen test app to try to see if I could notice it on various test screens, but couldn't.

I noticed it on my G4, even my HTC M8. Especially the home bar buttons, which would remain if I used the phone for a long time before going to a game or something else that removed the row of buttons.

Why is that? A lot of comments about it, and if check those links with spare parts for camera glass there are SOLD OUT or Almost Gone
The comments are just the same regurgitated posts over and over. And the spare parts just started showing up in the past few weeks so supply on them was already non-existent or really tight. So these parts suppliers didn't get 20,000 replacements out of the blue and sell out in no time. They probably got a couple hundred and yeah, a lot of people did damage to their camera glass that caused it to break and they wanted to fix it. Happens with any phone. But there's no mass spontaneous breakage cover up going on here. All the pictures posted show a clear point of impact with the glass cracking out from there.

Don't forget, repair shops may have also bought a lot of those simply to stock up for later customers too.

The "burn in" happened a bit on my V10. Though it didn't last long. Specifically the notifications. I get a lot and don't read them right away. So that was interesting

I've noticed this on my v20 like a month ago. And I've tried everything I can think of it doesn't go away. It really bothers me when I'm watching something and I see it on the screen :/

Just glad to know, after coming here....that its normal. Was about to send in to LG for this.

Yeah, apparently normal. Needs to be something we can do though. My 2nd V20 already and same problem. I want my money back or a NEW phone. Not the refurbished one they sent me for warranty.

If it's not that you got two bad units I wonder what is causing it

Welcome to the wonderful world of refurbish roulette. This is why I haven't sent mine in for a warranty claim on the screen, and all the manufacturers do this. You never know what you'll get back.

Darn, wrong person to pull the trigger lol. I need to figure out what I can do about it.

I'm considering an S7 with no issues, or a S7 with burn in seen only on a white screen for $100 less. The burn in was faint and not really noticeable. Will it get worse? Is it indicative of future problems?

What would you recommend I do? Thanks for any advice.
