screen comes back on by itself

My screen seems to come back on after it times out ( set for 1 min) every 5 minutes and stays on for about 15 seconds or so. Nothing is happening on the screen. I have gone through every app on the phone to see if they are doing any updates or anything and nothing is set to do that. It is very strange. It is exactly every 5 minutes. Has anybody seen this behavior? :-\

Sounds like a battery sim pull for 5 min might reset things for you. Try and report back

good candidate=GPS and Latitude. if you're signed into Latitude--it will attempt to auto-update your location ever X amt of minutes--my Evo had this same screen bug.

check your latitude settings & try
1) signing out
or
2) disabling GPS
and see if it keeps happening

Thanks for your responses. I tried a battery and sim pull. No difference. I have never used lattitude so that can't be it, but I did disable GPS. So I guess we will see

Easy Profiles can also cause this behavior. The issue is apparently related to checking GPS location periodically. There is an option in Easy Profiles to disable the screen flashing.

Check your screen settings, particularly "timeouts". Reset them if necessary.

Do you haver a battery saving app like Green Power? It keeps data off to conserve battery and it turns it onfor one minute every 15 minutes to check to see if its needed to download email, updates etc
