Screen dimming on email app only

Strange behavior recently started. Only on the email app, the screen dims both on auto brightness and manual. Going into email settings, screen lights up. Back to the email screen (on all accts), screen dims.
Any suggestions?

you probably turned on Power Savings Mode. it's a common problem for people who aren't aware.
