screen gone black

Help!! Last night the right side of my screen started to dim and now it has almost completely gone black even though it is on. I mostly concerned because I don't want to lose my photos and videos saved on the phone which I thought were saved to the Micro SD but when I checked it, they weren't there....Please help!!:'(
