screen off memo on my note 5 is not working

it is activated in settings, but when the screen is off and i pull out the s-pen, i cant write on the screen

It works on my Verizon Note 5 with the latest update. I suppose that it's possible that something got corrupted while applying the update on your device.

You said that no matter what you do, you can't write on the screen while the screen is off. Along with verifying that your settings are correct (SETTINGS/S PEN/SCREEN OFF MEMO=ON), have you tried clearing the cache and rebooting?
