I just discovered something that causes random weirdness with the X ... case pressure on the screen.
My X, running smoothly on the manual OTA GB since early April, suddenly developed a case of spontaneous resets, black or broken screen images, LPP force closures, bricking and more. No new apps downloaded during this time and nothing essentially changed. Mystery.
... Until I realized I had recently started using a modified holster that increased pressure on the edges of the screen area as part of its grip (X is naked in the holster). I thought this would be good to hold the X in place, BUT not so. Apparently, ambient pressure on the screen causes the X to react with unexpected and random behavior. I'm sure Moto techs would be saying "Duh!", but to the un-tech, this is a revelation. Since I ceased using this holster, the X is back to its normal, very stable self.
I'm posting this because so many X owners experience oddball behavior and can't identify the source of the problems. This situation I discovered would, at the least, be worth checking out before trying the dreaded Factory Data Reset.
