Screen Randomly Locks

I have an S2. I just installed the VZW SIM on Monday. I also have installed 16gb micro SD card. Over the last few days, the screen will randomly lock, go dark. I have to wake it back up and it comes right back to where I was working, so it doesn't seem like any app is actually force closing.

Any ideas why this is happening?

Immediately after reading your post, I thought that your screen was turning off because you have an option in settings called "Smart Stay" on. It makes it to where if you look away from your phone or cover up the front facing camera, the screen will go black. I, personally have a galaxy s4 and it has that option so I am not definitely sure if your device does. Just go ahead and take a look in your settings and let me know if that was the issue. I do have that on and I thought about that as the issue. I think I disabled that feature and it still happened. I will try it again though.

OK...that didn't have any effect. It's done it twice in the last 5 minutes. I've got the screen timeout set to 10 minutes. Randomly in last 5 minutes, screen just locks...didn't go dark, just goes back to lockscreen.

Oh, btw, I got updated to Marshmallow after activating the SIM on Monday night.

I am sorry that did not work. After I posted that, I went to settings and changed a few things to try to see why your phone might be doing that. Even after I changed things, I just could not get to what you were describing. Perhaps it is a third party app bugging out. Did you recently install any home screen launchers or an app that changed a default (like phone or messaging). I have an app called Clean Master that is reliable, clears junk cache files, and detects issues with your phone. I recommend that you check that app out and search for any internal issues within an app.
