I am still curious what is up with the glass on my Bionic as compared to my old Droid X. I was brutal with my X...it took many falls, and slides across concrete face down. The bezel was a chipped up mess...but the screen didn't have mark on it after a year.
My Bionic is a month old and has dozens of little micro scratches on the screen, and 2-3 that can be felt with the fingernail. It has never been dropped, and been kept in a pocket without other objects.
Yes, I could use a screen protector, but I have never had to before, and I HATE the texture, and look they give the screen. Also, I would rather simply insure the phone, then have to deal with removing a case when I swap the battery once a day, or deal with a foggy detail killing piece of plastic over my screen. That is, with my previous phones which had near unscratchable glass that is. On this one you pretty much have to cover the screen.
I'm not sure what's different with the Bionic glass, but it sure isn't the gorilla glass I have come to know and love in the past. I am starting to wonder if there was just a bad batch of glass?
