Screen sharing/mirroring on the S5?

So I can't get screen mirroring to work via the built in app or on chromecast. I just want to play a video I shot yesterday on my TV. Anyone else had this issue?

Is your TV a Samsung Smart TV with screen mirroring capabilities? I think this is the only way it works because you have to turn on the feature on your TV as well as on your phone.

The easiest way is to purchase the Samsung Allshare Doggle from Bestbuy or Samsung's website. It's about $70 and will make any HDMI tv able to use the mirror feature. I am currently using it with my s5 and a vizio tv.

Something you can also do is to purchase an MHL cable which allows you to transmit video signal but that's not wireless. It's one of the easier solutions out there but there's also other ways. What app are you using by the way that you spoke of in the original post? I found this tutorial on youtube that might help, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S2YjDeVq1VQ. If you have a smart TV, I think you can get it hooked up via downloading of an app via wireless connection. You have to have the sender app on your phone and a receiver app on your TV if I recall correctly in order to get this to work. I hope you found a solution!

Why would anyone buy a $70 dongle when you could buy a Chromecast for $35 and do more?

How do I screen mirror on the S5 to Samsung UN60H6300 Smart Tv?

I am able to screen mirror the S5 to my Samung TV but when I play my videos, there is no audio. How am I able to get the audio to work?

You don't need to spend any money. If your TV is smart connect it and phone to same network and you should be able to share easily. Tap the media button on youtube
