Screen Went Out & I Need Help Getting Files Transfered to Replacement Phone

The screen quit working on my S4 and Verizon replaced if for free. The guy in the store said he couldn't transfer any files because he needed to see the screen. Most of my stuff transferred with my sd card but I have some pictures and music that was saved to the phone and not the card. Is there anyway I can transfer the data using a pc? Thanks in advance for any help.

If you don't have a secure lockscreen, just plugging the phone via USB should do the trick. If the lockscreen is secure, then you'd have to unlock it first, which means seeing the screen.

Now, can you not see the screen BUT it still registers touch input? If so, you can connect an MHL cable so that you can mirror the screen on a TV via HDMI. That way you can see what's on the screen.

I do have a lock screen but I haven't even thought about hooking it to the TV. I will give that a try. Thank you.
