Has anyone been able to do a screenshot on the Verizon version by swiping side of hand from left to right or right to left. I have the setting on in the Motion settings, but for some reason I can't get it to work. Please let me know, I have a buddy with Sprint version and it works for him.

Yes. Works for me with Verizon S3.
Has your friend tried with your phone or you with his to be sure it is not your technique?

I just did it on my Verizon Sgs3. Actually scrape the fatty part of the side of your hand across the entire surface from left to right average but constant speed. You'll hear the shutter sound.

Works fine for me. Not ideal because sometimes the screen moves while you swipe. Would rather use hard buttons.

If you do it right it will not move the screen. I love this gesture and I use it all the time

I just tried it and it works fine, just make sure your palm fully swipes the screen. It took me a couple of tries to get it to work

Home + power also takes screenshots.

FWIW, with the swipe/palm action some popup dialog boxes will close before the picture is taken. With holding the power+home buttons this does not happen.

Odd that they have two different "capture" animations depending on the method used.

To be clear, your hand has to be in contact with the screen. It does not work if you are just swiping over the screen.
