Scrolling lag with browser/chrome, facebook, twitter, and play store

Go to the android central website with your stock or chrome browser and java turned ON. Try to load up the S6 review. Watch how long it takes.

Then scroll through the page. It's insane bad

then turn it OFF. You will see a very huge difference

OK I tried this, and nope it's perfectly fine either way, exactly the same. No lag. I don't have this issue on my unit. Wonder why?

Honestly I don't know what to say. I've done nothing to mine. We may have different views if what lagging is

I come from an iPhone 6 plus straight to this so I can recognize lag right away

No, something like that would drive me bonkers. But I looked at it with the java on and off just to be sure and there's absolutely no difference. When you first set up the phone, did you do a factory reset after downloading the update?

I've been reading quite a bit, and it does seem that people are having different experiences with what's wrong/annoying. I can't imagine why

I was having some lag issues but after completing a factory reset everything seems much smoother

In all my years on many different cell phones I have seen where some people have problems and others don't on the exact same phones out of the box! Some swear by a factory reset as the solution to many problems...and I am sure it does help many...though we should NOT have to do a factory reset every other day! In all my experience I guess I am one of the fortunate ones because the only time I ever have had to do a factory reset was when selling the phone to clean off the personal stuff. Even when upgrading from KitKat to Lollicrap on me and the wife's M8 I did not do a factory reset on either one and they are both just fine...well I sold mine for the S6 Edge...but it was working just fine. I guess my point is that I also do not understand WHY on the exact same hardware (supposedly anyways) with the exact same software out of the box do so many of these phones not all work the same?

This is why I returned my S6 today to go back to my 6+... The lag when browsing websites was just ridiculous... I could barely scroll through this thread on my S6 but with my 6+? Smooth as butter like usual! Again Apple may not be spec king but their in-house built A8 + iOS is just a killer combo that I doubt Android will ever topple.

Besides that, I'm sadden that I returned the S6, it had the best damn screen I have ever seen on a phone AND the best damn camera I've ever used on one too!

Switching from iOS to android, that "lag" always exist. I would describe it as a slight stutter. It drives me crazy but its been my experience with every android device.

I honestly thought this would have been a thing of the past once Android 5.0+ was released but damn Android has some catching up to do. It's really sad due to the fact that hardware wise, Android is kicking so much *** right now especially with the all mighty S6.

All I have to say is this, Android is going in the right direction and I'm glad it is. I loved my time with the S6 but when you're marketing a device as the next "big" thing - I exepct it to run like the next "big" thing.

I had this issue 2. Switch out TouchWiz for Google now launcher switch out the Samsung keyboard for the Google keyboard and disable autoplay videos in facebook and you'll have no more lag at all.

Solved. Browser lag is happening due to advertiements. install addway or any add blocker app and it will be smooth as butter

I just got the S6 Active. Great phone, but I might be returning it due to my frustration with scrolling. I came from a Nexus 5. I still have it, and the scrolling on the Nexus 5 is buttery smooth. It was just as good as the iPhone. Considering it is a 2 year old processor now, it is amazing how much better it scrolls than the S6 Active. I have done side by side scrolling on both. On the Nexus 5, scrolling is consistent in speed and has the "correct" feel of friction & momentum. Its hard to explain, but it just feels natural. Apparently this was a big thing Google addressed in the past couple releases of Android. Samsung has somehow managed to totally screw that up along the way. I don't want to have to disable ads or Javascript to get it to scroll right, it should just work. On the S6, if I flick my finger up with roughly the same force sometimes it scrolls 3 lines, sometimes it goes 3 pages. It isn't consistent and it is really annoying. It could absolutely be fixed via a software update if Samsung was willing to address the issue, but I don't know if I want to wait.

GreetingsFromAP I've the same problem Anche i've N5, Galaxy Nexus, Huawei p8 and Moto g 2014... all of them (yes, also the OLD Gnexus) scrolls better than S6. S6 stutters scrolling... everywhere: contacts, menù, impostazioni... everywhere.
And i've just uploade the firmware to the last release (in italy 5.1.1 csc COH4), but no changes.
Take a look at these video:

No solutions?
Could be useful to flash a rom?

I've only experience the lag when power save mode is on. I just keep the phone full power.

I just got my s6 edge today! Couldn't be any happier with the build quality and the fluidity that is now touchwiz. But something just does not seem right while using apps that require scrolling up or down. EX: Facebook, Twitter, Play Store and especially the browser. Is anyone else experiencing these issues. Just to note Im on TMobile and am experiencing these after an uodate and factory reset after the update.

iPhones don't have regular lag. Sometimes, very rarely, the system hangs for a few seconds, but that's extremely rare. Androids seem to have an ever present lag in their normal use. Sometimes it seems like a disconnect from the touch screen to the UI responding, other times it's just a definite slow down. iOS and Android are written in different code and android in effect is an app running an app, an emulator of sorts. That is where all this memory management and larger memory requirements come in. iOS handles memory better and requires less and the hardware has no trouble keeping up with OS needs. My Nexus 5 (and now 6p) have little to no lag and seem butter smooth, as they are. But when I take my iphone 6 for a spin now and then it's still a better experience, it just seems to flow/animate/move the way the brain feels it should. Samsungs, despite their excellent chips and large ram numbers have to deal with TW, which is the culprit. I bought the galaxy s6 edge when it came out. Gorgeous.. but that keyboard lag was unbelievable. I'd type and sometimes the pop up animation would just stop mid sentence and stay there, as if the phone froze and then suddenly after a few seconds it would quickly completely the rest of the letters which I typed while it was frozen. The same happens with the google keyboard... it's a system wide problem. Dropped frames leading to slow or jerky animations. Makes my blood boil.
