SD card already inserted, how to transfer the songs over?

I'm fairly sure I'm probably missing something ridiculously simple. But I have my 32gb sd card already in the 8, just wanted to know how to transfer the songs I have on the phone, over to the sd card.

Can you do it somewhere in the settings?

Open the file manager (my files). Open internal storage. Find the songs. Tap the three dots in top right corner. Tap edit. Select the songs you want to move. Select move.... Follow prompts

Seems easy enough, I'll give it a try.

I vaguely remember seeing an option a while ago to save everything to sd card automatically, so I don't have to bother to keep moving stuff. This is possible, too?

It is with photos. In Camera settings...

I don't know if this is what you are looking for, but if the songs on your phone are from a music app you should be able to find a setting that saves Downloaded music to the SD card. for example I use Amazon music and any songs that I download to the device automatically save to the SD card. may not be able to move what's already there but going forward now that you have the card inserted.
