SD Card File Transfer

Well, I love music, but it's running out of memory. I plan on buying a 16 GB or 32 GB SD card, but I have a couple of questions.

1) Which app or how can I backup all my data on my 8GB to my computer and put it back on the 16 GB SD card?

2) How will this effect my rooted device?

I bought a new card, copied all the stuff from the old card... put it on the new card... done. I don't use apps2sd though.

Get at least a class 4. New Evos come with class 4 cards now.

How do I copy? Just a simple copy and paste? Does the Class really make a difference?
