Hi all,
Ive upgraded to LG G3 and all is fine and dandy, except that the G3 is NOT recognising a working 32Gb MicroSD card. On boot up there is no message to advise it's being 'prepared' or anyother messages of that ilk, and no apps are recognising the SD card. The SDcard is working, I've taken it from my previous phone...and it still works in that phone.

The card seems inserted correctly....i have removed it and replaced it several times all to no avail.

Anyone having these issues ?

Phone is running Kit Kat 4.4.2 Kernal 3.4.0

Please make sure the card is okay? Put it another phone, can you see the pictures? Put the SD card into a USB Card reader in pc, does the PC see files? If PC can see files, then copy the entire SD Card content to your PC (I create a folder called sdbackup). Do all the files copy over? Can you go into folders and see content? Pictures? Music? Documents? Great!

If not, your SD Card may be corrupted I have had great success using PhotoRec to recover SD cards.

If you can see all the files that you copied to your PC, you could just format (FAT32) the SD card and use again; but I would recommend another one. OR use no SD Card at all if you have the 32 gb model. If you use the SD Card again, you may want format in your phone, then copy files from PC back to SD Card. I keep all my files on internal memory, using Verizon Cloud to back up everything (it does not backup a SD Card). I feel better knowing I have things backups, instead of the tenuous SD Card with a possibly of what happened to you.

If the phone never recognizes card after formatting, backup up your phone's data, factory reset. Does it work after reset? Yes? Great....lol. No? Defective phone, take to your carrier to determine warranty or insurance replacement.

Thanks for the response, but i have already stated that the SD card is working. Its recognised in another phone and is not corrupted.

So....you copied all the files to your PC, formatted the SD card it on the PC, put that back in your G3 and formatted it in your the G3? ? ? ? I helped someone migrate from their Motorola Maxx...to an HTC M8. The SD Card from the Motorola could not be seen the M8. I could put the card in MY Samsung Note 2, worked fine. Had to copy files to PC, format card in PC (long, FAT32), put in M8, formatted (just in case) in the M8, then copied all the files back from the PC to the newly formatted in the M8 SD Card, and everything was fine. You are not magically going to find out if the phone has a bad SD Card slot without going through this process. Your old phone could of have been just off in the way it was writing to the SD card. Your old phones SD slot could of been bad-that's why you can see it in the old phone. After you have done all this, as one of the many scenarios I gave in my previous post, it still does not work...then your phone needs replaced. Your response was not, I did ALL that, and it still didn't work. Then it's the phone, and not rocket science. Just because the old phone can read it, is not the end of the mystery. I must say, your response come across a little snotty when I was just trying to give you some help. If you tried everything, then move on by getting the phone replaced.

The G3 does not show its preparing the sd card or scanning it.
I had this issue too and thought something was wrong with the sd card.
I am using a 128gb card, use the G3's file manager to view the files.
You will see everything you have on the card then.
This is how mine works.

Thanks....I will locate the G£ File manager and check that. 3rd party software doesn't recognise the card either.....cheers

You can also just have a picky G3 if the card is working on other devices. When I had my S5 it had the same issue it wouldn't read any low end cards. I had to buy a gold tier scan disk in order for it to work. If not you can also replace the phone through warranty.
