SD card slowing down my X.

My phone has gotten laggy.and by that I mean slow to open apps/camera/etc. Really laggy at times. And, I thought it was just the way it was gonna be. And,I don't wanna reformat every time it gets laggy.
I have a lot of pix and a few videos on my sd card, so I removed most of them.(*can't find all the ones I have on there when I put SD in pc slot..I wanna back em up before deleting em.) and it helped some.
So, then as a test, I took the SD out and rebooted and good grief, the phone flies like new without any SD card.
So, the lag is from the SD itself or something ON the SD. It's the original SD that came with our X's.
I went through it and removed some folders from old removed apps, but probably not enough.
I was just amazed at how much better it worked without the SD in.
Any thoughts/ideas on this?
I still love my X.
*unrooted and I don't use Google Music. I reset to factory when GB was pushed out.

It could be the card, I had a similar issue with the card I had in my X for nearly a year. I replaced the card and all was good again.

This is an interesting thread for me because I noticed my X was a lot slower after I "pinned" most of my Google Music. (Pinning is Google's process that allows music to be available without streaming.)

I removed my SD card like you described and noticed a big improvement in speed.

The odd thing is I reinstalled the SD card (without removing any music) and the X still feels faster than it was before.

I'm thinking I may just get a new card then. no biggie. Not sure what files to transfer on it from my old one though. Guess I'll just have to play around with it all.
Or..just take it out. Worked fine without one. No pic storage though.

I deleted stuff I knew weren't needed and then just copied the entire contents. I had to recreate some sync partnerships though, such as Documents To Go.

Get the fastest card u can afford, I think the stock SD cards are class 4 or 6. Class 10 would be the fastest card out there.

Thanks. I dunno if I wanna put that much into a card. Maybe something a little cheaper but not as big. I didn't have that one 1/2 full.
But, honestly, man I never paid attention to card speeds. I didn't even know they came in 'speeds'.
I'll have to check that out.

I ordered THIS card today. Cheap, had good reviews, class 10.
We'll see. But it's definitely the card botching up. Works great without it.

Got my card in. High speed. AMAZING how much better and quicker my phone works now. Especially with the new update.
