Looking for an SD card for both my S5 and my Tab 3.0. Speed is not an issue, but high reliability is. Looking to store only music and pictures. Will be looking in the 32 Gb range.

What is the max capacity that the S5 and 4.4.2 will support?

Personally had issues with SanDisk, both Ultra. It died after 3-6 months, purchased at Best Buy.

Kingston, Patriot and Lexar are my top 3.

I have heard and saw most topics about unreliability of SanDisk. Amount of topics my SanDisk died after X months scared me. I had SanDisk card before when I had Sony. K550i and when card died unexpectedly it was painful, lost pictures and all cool files. I had not enough money for Samsung card so I bought Transcend 64GB it had 50% price drop. I have it since December and using it without any limits. So far no errors or damaged files, I'm happy with it.

I've been sporting this 32 gig Kingston for 4 years. Since my original HTC EVO.

Not one single problem.

The grade of the SD card matters as far as reliability. The standard SanDisk cards are Grade 8, which are prone to corrupt files and can have issues transferring also leading to corruption. The next step up would be Grade 10 SD cards, which are known as the Ultra series for SanDisk. These are more reliable as far as being less prone to data corruption and faster speeds for video playback etc. I personally use a Grade 10 Ultra 64GB card from SanDisk, no issues what so ever. There is also Grade 12 SD cards which is the Extreme series from SanDisk. Most reliable and fastest read speeds. Hope this helps!

I use the Sandisk Extreme SD cards for my camera. I have Samsung EVO 32GB in my phone and Samsung 64GB in my Galaxy Note 2014 Edition. Don't know why I felt the need to go with Samsung cards in my Samsung products. Sandisk Ultra and Extreme cards have never failed me.

Always used Sandisk. Only had one time when the card got corrupted. Im pretty sure it was my fault due to a drunken night. Other than that, all of my cards have been great.

Thanks for all the help and advice. I purchased the SanDisk 64Gb Ultra for the S5 as well as my Tab 3.0. Will let you all know how it goes. Again, thanks for the help and advice.
