Im in agreement on this one. At this point samsung has both our phones and our money for much longer than they promised. Id call it theft as well as fraud too becuase weve got nothing and samsung has everything. its simple economics. we pay for a product and then receive the product. Samsung wants that product back and offers a refund. so we give the product back, but they dont give us a refund as promised?? Ive seriously lost trust in them as a corporation. Somebody please initiate a class action lawsuit.
This is why I might give the v20 a second look especially if the price drops. At least with them they make the unlocked US version available sooner and if you purchase it through Amazon you also have a 1 year warranty (purchased directly from them, not third party).
be it from the carriers or purchasing it from the Samsung website, it seems Samsung and the carriers are just giving us a big middle finger and expect us to buy their next overpriced phone, the S8 and shut up. They don't want to eat the cost and figure people will just give up trying to get a refund. I guess they figure that's less costly. Even for us people who ordered the phones, when returning it to the store they should be refunding or credit cards right away. Not making us wait for weeks until they ship it to the warehouse to be checked in.
When returning something to Best Buy you don't have to wait for it to be sent to the warehouse. The store has the phone in their possession, a refund then should be issued. When I worked for Officemax if someone ordered a laptop or printer and returned it to our store they didn't have to wait for weeks until it was sent back. We processed the refund.
The problem is that there are only 4 major carriers in north america, so they can give the middle finger and terrible customer service knowing that you don't have many options. Just imagine if that ATT and Tmobile merger was approved and only 3 carriers.
For now on it's unlocked for me and probably LG. It's either direct from Amazon, Best Buy, or BHphoto. I will never buy a carrier phone again especially Tmobile. They all give much better support than the carriers who have been a nightmare with this whole thing.
