Second thoughts on 10+

I upgraded from a Note 8 to a Note 10+. I love the smaller bezels, the bigger screen, the bigger battery and its overall quickness. I got the aura glow and enjoy that as well. I already had galaxy buds so I don't miss the headphone jack. For me the battery life has been great. I have gotten over no LED notification light, I check the phone soften it doesn't matter.

Too bad it’s android. I’d like to see windows mobile again. Or maybe they could use android back in but redo the interface.

Yes. I loved Windows Mobile. It was a solid OS. It's too bad that Balmer effed it all up and left Nadella a crap sandwich. Android makes sense though. You get the best of both worlds. I am really quite pleased with Microsoft Launcher, OneNote, OneDrive, and Outlook. I use them daily. People can talk all the smack they want about Microsoft, but it really stepped up its game in the mobile field.

there's nothing MS could produce in a phone that would interest me even a little. I'm so over MS and all their fus.

Oh yeah. I understand. I loved my Lumia 928 then Icon, and I was not happy when Microsoft didn't release the Lumia 950/950XL that worked on Verizon.

To be honest, I am still deeper into the Microsoft ecosystem than I am into Google's. Now that Microsoft has made a full court press into the Android ecosystem with its apps (Outlook, OneNote, OneDrive, etc.) it makes sense for them to release an Android based phone.

Samsung and Apple will have to play catch up again.

yeah. I'm firmly anti MS after dealing with them professionally since around 1995 +/-. that said, I didn't start to intensely dislike them until they started forcing updates, especially buggy updates, that affect my business. they can't seem to release updates without mucking them up and then they force them on unsuspecting consumers. may be okay for some whose computer isn't integral to their financial existence, but when you screw with my money I get po'd. don't trust them with my computers or software so no way I'd want them mucking up my phone. I have win 10 locked down so tightly it cries.

the first thing I did when I got my 10+ was uninstall everything MS. I could see the writing on the wall and I didn't like it.

Yeah I loved Windows Mobile devices really wish they succeeded. It was basically the app support that killed them.

No second thoughts here. FPS works fine for me. A physical FPS in the back is still my preferred but not a deal breaker. Don't care about no 3.5mm jack. Love the curved screen and the narrow boxy asthectics, I don't use a case and don't have false touch issues. Of course love the spen but don't use the gesture features too much I do use the remote shutter button quite often for group photos. I personally think this is the best Note so far. Especially the new UFS 3.0 storage I can tell it's faster when dealing with large files. The only thing I was a little upset about was the omission of Gear VR support. But I'm still holding on to a S9 for that.

Also just to add, because of the faster storage along with more ram and upgraded processor DeX works better than ever. You really feel like you got your money's worth if you really utilize the capabilities.

I got the Note 10 (not +) as a direct upgrade from a Huawei P10, a really mediocre 'flagship' phone from 2 and 1/2 years ago, and I have to say that this phone is absolutely amazing. I've been put off the older Notes due to their gigantic size, and that is why this phone was 'the one' when it came out. The battery life on it is great when it comes to normal, everyday usage, as I manage to pull 6-7 hours of SoT with some light gaming added into the mix. The screen is absolutely beautiful, and even though it is 1080p on a 6.3 inch screen, it isn't noticable as it's sharp and vibrant. And I mean come on, Apple still gets away with 720p panels so Samsung should with 1080p. The 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage are enough for most people, as barely anyone will ever use the whole storage or all the RAM. The S-Pen is also a great feature, although it's really more of an addition to the phone that you hardly ever use, but it's nice that it's there. Overall, I love and cherish this phone, and the only thing that annoys me is the AMOLED panel, as I'm a dark mode user and so when I move anything, there's just purple trails everywhere:(

so true. I will likely never touch the full capacity of mine. it's lovely to have all this space available.

all photos, downloads, and music are on my ext sd and all that is immediately uploaded to dropbox on a per device allocation so I have dups of all my devices' info, all the way back Note 3, should I need it. anything local to the internal sd is also uploaded to a separate folder.

Glad to hear you are enjoying your phone. I have the plus version and you're right 256gb storage in more than enough for most. I put my music on it and it barely made a dent. As for the S pen I am one who uses it on a daily basis. I always go back to the note specifically for the S Pen.

I mainly use mine just for time killing, like I'll sit there and go on PENUP and start colouring random things in. Just a way to kill time whilst waiting for something. And the gestures on it are great cause I used to have to use a bluetooth shutter to take photos without holding the phone, and now the remote is in the phone at all times, so it's great
