Hey guys, I wonder if anyone can help. I recently took a load of screenshots from an app that was in my secure folder. I went to photos so i could edit them and i couldn't find them. I looked all over the phone and they weren't there. I took another screenshot and went to the location and it said it was stored in the secure folder. But there's no photo app or folder in the secure folder. I wanted them to go to my normal photo folder. I managed it by swiping through each photo from that last screenshot and removing from the secure folder but can anyone shed any light on where that folder might be?

Screen shots taken inside the secure folder are only stored in the secure folder. You can only access that from either the gallery app in the secure folder or the file explorer located in the secure folder.

This is because the secure folder is an encrypted partition of your phones storage, you will not be able to access any files from the secure folder outside of the secure folder. This includes screen shots as well.

What you might need to do is select the add apps and unhide any apps that you may have hid when you set up the secure folder. Like the gallery and file explorer.

I was able to take a screenshot in my secure folder go to the gallery app. Then select the picture and then press the 3 little dots in up right corner. There is an option in that drop down menu to remove from secure folder.

You can always take the app you want to use to edit images in secure folder and add it to the secure folder. This will not affect anything currently in the app outside of the secure folder.

Spot on, I'd hidden the gallery app. I didn't realise I'd done that. Thank you very much, I've learned a new thing today lol

I've been using Secure Folder since it was released, and My Knox before that. I never knew you could hide apps!

** Side note. I just saw that there's a Gallery update in the Galaxy App Store. There are several reviews saying that after the update, you couldn't move photos out of Secure Folder. (No one mentioned if you could via My Files tho.) They also said you couldn't hide/unhide albums. Gonna hold off on that update I guess.

Thanks. I have 5.4.07.3 and it appears I cannot move a file out of Secure Folder from the Gallery App. It did let me move it via the My Files app though. I guess too late for me for the Gallery though. Hope they fix it, thanks for the heads up.

I saw the update too. I held off updating...not because of secure folder as I haven’t used it yet. But I remember seeing something when still using my N5 and people said after updating the gallery lots of people lost their photos. I have mine backup to a few places. But I like them handy in my gallery for many reasons. Someone needs to update if they do the update.
