Seems like V30 is going to be the best phone

They are, however I do not want to discourage someone from buying the Note even if they feel the S pen will not be used much.

I think if someone doesn't plan on using the Spen you should discourage them from buying the Note 8 & suggest that they check out the V30. Take away the Spen and what can the Note 8 do that the V30 can't & for $50 to $100 less.

If all you want out of your phone is a better camera.. Then get the v30... But if you want more functionality out of your phone and a good camera, then get the note 8. I'm a former v20 owner and the camera was great but thats it... Its the same thing for the v30.. The note 8 and various other samsung software just gives it better functionality.

Samsung connect? Link to my tv... Then watch it on my phone.. Or if my wife is sleep.. I can. Just have just the sound going to my phone, while i listen through headphones.. And watch tv on my tv.... Thats not on lg....

Sidesync connect my phone to my tablet.. And have all the features of my phone on the tablet.

But that's kinda the whole point. If you're a Samsung fan and you don't use the pen, Samsung already has that covered with the S8+ that is also cheaper.

Everyone keeps tip toeing around the issue, and that is there are fans of both OEMs that are curious, but ultimately going to go with what they like better.

The ones on the fence are still going to split down the middle.

Besides, come on guys... Give it up for the REAL king of innovation, the X!! There is no substitute.

IKR! Did you hear that you can charge the X without plugging it in!!! Wow!

I didn't say doesn't plan on using... I said doesn't plan on using it much.
Note first timers may think they want it.

For me those features provide less value but that's good that they work for you & it's true that those are some things that you can do w/ Sammy that you can't w/ the V30.

I just wanted to let you know in case you talk to someone that doesn't plan on using it at all. No I'm kidding but that makes sense they could grow to like it.

Haha oh man you iPhone lovers. The emoticon feature is bananas though.

& I get it, I might be looking at the V30 as the shiny new toy but I feel like if you don't care about the Spen, you get the dual camera that's almost as good as the Note 8 (pics-wise anyway), quad dac, great video features. So I would for sure steer someone in the direction of the V30 because I feel like your getting a big enough upgrade over the S8

All these 2017 flagships are beyond good. When people are arguing over front facing cameras and S-pens, you know we've reached a good place.

I think the days of bashing someone else's choice are over. They're all mostly so good that you have to nitpick to find something.

I have the best phone... I know phones quite well... I have friends that tell me I always make great choices... Even reviewers ask me for advice... The question I get most is... Touch tone or rotary

That is actually on lg. Well my g6 with sprint anyway or it could be the tv i have

The Android Central review nailed it:
As much as I could praise the great design and camera features, there is another very compelling argument for the V30. In a world of headphone jacks going away, and weird screen dimples, and $700 phones with inexplicably bad cameras, and dumb fingerprint placements (or the lack of any fingerprint scanner at all), and bad biometrics, the V30 is a phone with absolutely no bull****. It does everything well, and then goes the extra mile with a phenomenal camera setup that's genuinely fun to use. And it does all that at a price considerably below its main rivals.

On a hike yesterday with a bunch of people and our dogs a guy took a picture, and handed me his Galaxy S7 Edge to look at it and when he handed it to me, the picture vanished and the gallery app had scrolled to some random place, and he had to find the picture again. He muttered to himself that the "bloody phone always does that" and I asked him if his palm hit the edge and he complained that it did and always does. Says its the last time he will buy a phone with a curve like that, and that he should have bought the regular S7.

The V30 really seems to be a no BS phone, in a time when Samsung phones have a lot of BS (curves many don't want, awful fingerprint scanner). Most reviewers say the widescreen camera and DAC is icing on the cake too. I don't care about the DAC myself, but the widescreen camera samples are looking good and I found myself wishing I had it yesterday on my hike. I told the guy about the V30 and why I preferred it to the Edge series and he said he wished he had waited.

Folks like me will help drive some sales as I am the go to guy for a lot of people in my circle. LG just needs to do their part and deliver a reliable product in reliable quantities and give store salespeople the tools and motivation to move product.

Here's what I see that is going to happen with the v30 in a little while.

V power users are going to have to change how they use the phone.

There will be no getting around the lack of removable battery and even with a great phone the v30 will be that is going to be a real let down for a lot of people.

My u11 got 5-5.5 hours of SOT and I could make it through some days of use without having to charge, but that didn't always happen and many days of heavy use or poor reception made me think of this v20 just sitting on my desk unopened and not being used with my spare batteries...

Sure Sure I know all about add on battery packs and cases but I hate the added weight of the phones when using them.. Slip this thin fully charged battery into the little carrying case and it disappears in my back pocket.

Yes I know removable batteries are gone now all for all of the reasons that are stated and that's what people are supposedly wanting but mark my word... Your going to miss it.. And the anxiety will come back... Unless you're just used to being a wall hugger...🔗

I thought I wanted it, but I honestly found that I rarely ever used it when I had my Note 7. Granted I didn't have it for long, and I didn't have much time to integrate it into my work flow. I don't think I could pay so much for the privilege of having an Spen. V30 looks nice but I have an S8 plus and I don't see what it brings to the table to make me upgrade. I do have a question though for anyone who already has LG devices. Can they connect to more than one Bluetooth device at once? I don't mean like to play music to two different headphones. I mean like connected to a smartwatch for headset capabilities, as well as a head unit to where you could answer from either. My backup phone, a Moto Z, doesn't do that and it's so annoying. Just curious, cause I could see getting the V30 as a backup if so. I'm sure there will be some awesome sales on it in a few months.
