AC Question

I have an ITEK selfie stick with headphone connection that worked with my IPHONE and my Galaxy S5. It does not work on this phone. I have tried several solutions but the lingo is different on this phone and the changes I made with the apps I downloaded to help do not work.

Welcome to Android Central! Just to be sure -- is the Volume button set as the shutter release in the Camera app?

THe options I have under volume key function are:
1. take pictures,
2. record video,
3. zoom,
4. system volume

I dont have an option for shutter release. hmmm take pictures? I think I tried that ... trying again.

There can be subtle differences in the headphone jack configuration between phones, so it's possible that plug isn't entirely compatible with the S8's. Are you certain it's pushed in all the way? Sometimes, if the jack is pretty snug, the user might not realize it's not in all the way.

You sure it doesn't work properly, because someone saw you using it and beat you to a pulp with it? Lol

Try bringing the stick to your local wireless store and ask if you can test it out on one of their S8's.

Make sure the rubber grip and raised "shutter" button on the selfie stick line up with the actual shutter button under the grip. Sometimes the grip moves out of alignment. If you don't feel a definite "click" when you press the button, feel around and see if you can find the actual button built into the stick.
