There is a lot of people on here saying that Google has not done any wrong here. I would have been quite content if I received my 7 a couple days after it went out at GS. But Google is now shipping devices to people that have ordered weeks after people who have yet to receive shipping information. Someone please tell me how that's fair. They answer their customer service calls first come first serve, why are the tablets shipping last come first serve. Ordering on the 27th apparently is after July 3rd.

This is what has bothered me. They did the same thing with the Galaxy Nexus. However, I have no ill will toward Google and, I know I will order from the Play store again. I just probably won't preorder again.

It's crazy because I wasn't even expecting the tablet until at least next week anyway. I came on here just to read and have discussions about the Nexus 7 but, you guys/gals got me all worked up over this release debacle LOL!

If the device came from an Australian company, I'd say you would have had a point. However, it's kinda silly to expect it would come from America and go on sale in Australia first. That kind of thing only happens in extremely rare circumstances. Your shipping seems pretty reasonable too, seeing as it's a 7500 mile trip from it's point of origin.

Oh and by the way, an Aussie dollar equals 0.983504 U.S. dollars, so no the Merican' greenback is still stronger.

To me, defending Google on this is ridiculous. They should be called out. And if I didn't do it, I'd consider myself as brainless as any die-hard Apple fanboy who excuses anything and everything Apple does.

I couldn't make it thru every post cause they became repetitive. What I clearly understand is those who are miffed and pre-ordered thru Google feel they should've gotten their N7 before GameStop pre-orders did.

It would make sense that Google would send out theirs first to customers who pre-ordered but since they didn't, what's the harm in canceling your order and picking one up retail....esp if tippy haven't been charged for it yet? Seems like a no brainer to me instead of waiting for the pre-order to arrive just so you can send it back.

I still can't find where it said pre-orders would ship first. I would argue though that they were for sale at the play store first. But also the launch was neither late or early. It was within the 2-3wk window Google announced. I personally did not pre-order, but once I heard Sam's club was selling I headed out the door.

I bought mine at Sam's today and didn't even realize they weren't supposed to be selling them yet until I went to Best Buy to find a cover and they said they didn't have any accessories out because they can't sell the tablet until next week or something.

I think you actually are mistaken about the cause of this ruckus. This isn't about gamestop pre-orders. What people are miffed about is that many pre-orders have not yet even been shipped out yet when the launch day was yesterday, including many who signed up the first day. People have been walking into Staples, Office Depot, Sam's Club and Wal-Mart and buying devices without pre-orders. And this was not a mistake, Google signed off on it. Basically they aren't even shipping out many peoples devices until Monday which is days after they have been available to the general public at numerous brick and mortars. That's not how a pre-order is supposed to work, and if anybody had known that's how it was going to go down, most of us wouldn't have spent an extra 20 bux with tax for shipping.

FWIW, Staples didn't ship preorders until the 14th. Won't get mine until Tuesday according to shipping info, but that's ok w/ me

I suspect if you refuse delivery w/ Google, you'll still have to pay for shipping...
