Just pay the shipping cost. If you can't afford the extra $7-$15 you shouldn't be buying the tablet to begin with. The cost of shipping to each individual household is a lot higher than it cost to ship to Gamestop or any other retailer in bulk, hence the shipping fee. So you get the tablet a day or 2 later than someone who went into a Gamestop. So what? Google didn't promise the tablet to arrive on the 13th, therefore they didn't lie to anyone here or lead anyone on. They also never promised that your pre-order would arrive before any retailers start selling the device. You knew the cost, you saw the shipping before you ordered, and you knew you were given an estimated time frame (mid july) in which your device was to be shipped. You agreed knowing very well if you buy a product from a retailer you weren't going to have to pay for shipping, reason being? You didn't have it shipped to you! I mean come on this is common sense.
Now, I do think that Google can learn from their competitor. Apple announces a product, announce a release date/predorders and gives the shipping date. This is the right way to do things. This isn't what Google did and Google really should have, but Google still did not do anything that warrants a refund in shipping costs.
