send a pic but get video

I have a friend with a cliq CT and she has problem. She takes picture and sends via mom's but when I receive it appears to be a video. It tries o play and flashes the still image for a second. I am on a Droid bone stock 2.1 thanks for the help. She gas gone through every setting on the phone and nothing works. I am not the only one this happens to so it can't be my device.

mine does the same thing. i have a cliq and when i send a pic to my gf's cliq, its a video as well.
