Sending phone for replacement...

Gotta love those "1/2 a chargers" -- leave one permanently attached to my pc so I don't have to hunt down charge/data transfer cord, have another one perma-stationed on my pc at work, etc.

Boy do I feel dumb now. This is almost embarassing to admit, given the amount of flashing, ftp and pix backups I do. Dedicated data cable hadn't even crossed my mind as a use for for my "halfie". Guess I'm just use to popping off the charger end for data transfers to pc. Thx

Why you [censored]. You had to take a huge dump on my parade, didn't cha. Thought I got lucky with my swap out, You called bingo for the jackpot, lucky duck. That was from corporate?

Didn't mean to poop on your parade :-)

I went through assurion since I lost the phone completely. Smooth process, i was actually kinda amazed that it went as well as it did.

A thought on why yours failed, could it be the cable you were using for the HDMI out? I would check it to make sure that it didn't fry you...

Yep, one always attached to the PC, one in the kitchen, one in my office. I am not sure what I am going to do with the latest, but it will more than likely replace the one on my PC since it is a "real" HTC one....

It's pretty cool that there still forking over new phones to people rather than boxed up refurbs like corp. I take it you didn't have a device location service/security app on it to track it down? Did you still have to pay the fee on a lost device, since it's not a user damaged return? Just curious, I have the ins. but I haven't had the need to make a claim thru Assurion, yet.

I certainly can't rule that out but I don't think it played a role b/c I just plugged the mhl/hdmi setup into her Rez so she could watch the rest of that crud movie while I was trying to figure out what happened on mine.
