Sense - widget won't stick

I've been using Go Launcher and never really played with the stock sense homescreens until today. I'm really loving how smooth it is. Now I'm trying to recreate my screens in sense, but I can't get my CalenGoo agenda widget to show up. I know there's enough room on the page, but it seems like sense has split that area into two blocks and won't allow me to add a widget that covers both of those spaces as one. FWIW, I really like CalenGoo bc it scrolls in other launchers. I'm assuming sense doesn't allow scrolling? That's fine, but it's either CalenGoo or Pure Cal widget which DOES work in that space, but doesn't show as much info as CalenGoo.

Can anyone help? I'd like to stick with the Sense screens, but not if I can't use my preferred calendar widget. Thanks!
