Don't know if this will work for everyone. But on last check the update was not available for me. On a whim, I rebooted my phone. Immediately on booting back up the update was downloading.

Like I said, this worked for me, maybe not for everybody. But worth a shot?

If you've heard (and understand) what 'jailbraking' is for iPhone, root is our form of jailbrake. If you're not familiar with it, it gives the owner of the phone more control over it, such as remove apps that you aren't supposed to be able to, etc.

Don't wait for the OTA, its much easier to push the update manually!

How? I have been trying to "force" this update manually for a day now. Did you get it to work in Sacramento? If so, then that blows the locality theory. I've also rebooted several times to see if the reboot kicks off a download/check but no dice.

To install:
1. Load to root folder of sd card
2. Turn phone off
3. Turn on phone holding down volume down and the camera button
4. Reboot.

I have a question for those who are rooted when this comes through.

If you have Wireless Tether, is it still working???

Saw comments in XDA that it wasn't, no note whether this was one person or everyone, so please respond for the masses or test if you have already done this.

I refuse to unroot, wanted Tether, it took me 2 days of hell, just for this update. For 2.2,
different story and hope it works without going back.

To All those who are worried about getting the update.
1) It i snot much of an update mostly Media Hub, which is sparse on content & priced quite High.
2) the system tweaks mostly effect 4G performance issues. Not many of us are even able to access 4G in a wide area..

3) it will come and when it does you will be like " I waited and kept obsessively checking for this update.."

this did nothing on my phone, I hit the home key on when it said reboot, is that the right key to hit

Got my update here in NW Georgia at about 12:15 EST. I like the media hub. I'm downloading Airplane! right now just to check out the quality. Well, that and to hear the nun speak Jive... TV listings appear to be quite slim as compared to the movies, which seems odd for some reason...

ok i figured it out everyone that is having problems, dont unzip the file just put the file directly on the sd card still in zip format, then turn off the phone, then hold down the bottom volume key, the camera key, and the power key, until you get to boot screen, then scroll down to update by pressing buttom volume key, then hit home key and it starts the update, feel free to thank me lol

Thumbs up on the movie choice though, I was cravin that movie just the other week and had it sent over from netflix. Good times (though the movie is pretty aged, so don't be discouraged if the quality isn't so hot)

Excellent, thanks for the download! Worked just like when I updated my wife's Droid to Froyo. Everything looks the same, but with Media Hub working now. But I'm hoping this helps me pick up some 4G better from the test towers in my area.
