Sep 16th Update

Los Angeles, got it at around 10pm. One thing I can attest to is smoother video playback. I've been watching TV shows and movies in various formats since I got the Epic and there has been a slight lag between audio/video, which seems to be gone now. Also dropped frames are fewer so vid playback seems better. Anyone else notice this?

Otherwise haven't noticed other performance improvements... not that it needs much. Humming along...

Again nothing here in Maryland... I know this isn't a significant update but this is not a good sign for the update rollout process in the future... I don't want to be waiting on Froyo days after everyone else...

I haven't gotten any notifications yet (in PA) and I am told there are no updates when I do a firmware or android update check.

I bet you what's happening is that samsung rolling it out slowly to test the traffic load for media hub. They don't want to Be on the news with stories of crashing media hub service. Folks in large markets will prolly get the update last or once they are confident about the media hub service supporting such traffic

For what it's worth this thread has links to the APK for media hub. I downloaded it and it works. Not sure what this will do when I get the real update though as I only downloaded the media hub APK and not the full update because I don't know how to install it.

Would you recommend I just uninstall the APK or will the update just ignore it and work fine?

I just got the update here in Ohio but it failed. I was rooted with the 'One click flasher with Andromeda kernel'. I unrooted, and now waiting for the update to roll back around. Manually checking won't get it.

Didn't know this but it appears media hub only works on 4G or WiFi.

New movies are like $12.99 to buy or $2.99-$3.99 to rent.

TV shows are $2.99 to buy.

You can watch previews on the movies and the quality seems to be as good as movies I put on my phone manually.

got my update this morning, works great. I never unrooted and still have root

edit: There is no horror movie section. Somewhat bummed.

TV Shows really need to be .99 for a rental.
