Got the update this morning (Los Angeles). Now my GPS locates me blocks away. didn't have this issue before. errr

Plus it seems that when I take shots with camera now, it shows me the pic right after so I have to hit "back" to go back to camera. Some people like this. It's just preference.

Mine's always done that. I'm pretty sure it's an option under camera settings. It should be called "Preview"

Update contains no change to GPS. GPS and wireless network location (tower triangulation) are two totally different location methods and not interrelated.

"blocks away" indicates is wireless network location. Wireless netrok location can be anything from 4000 meters to 6 meters.

8 PM in Utah

I get 4G here like crazy (north of SLC) but no update yet. Anyone else still waiting?

not location dependent. I got it the first hour, kid got it the next day, wife 48 hours after roll out. all kept in same location, same account, and all purchased same store same time. Seems totally random.

i wish I din't get it, it introduces two unwanted affects for us which I can see so far: auto dimmer much much lower brightness and audible feedback from swype seems gone. I could care less about media hub's rapacious pricing

I agree. I only got it because I figured that it would be the standard developers will use for their ROMs that are slowly coming out now.

Same Issue

I received the update and it failed. I thought that it may be because i am rooted? Is that not a possibility. I really don't give a **** about the hub. I want FROYO and a custom ROM.

I just got the update. It is 12:15am September 19th. I decided I would just be patient and wait for the OTA notification. * MR2 DI07 System Update 23.7 MB * So they're still pushing the OTA update folks.

I got the ota notification and it still failed... I'm waiting/hoping I get another one soon.

update killed my battery life, sat over night fully charged woke up and its dead just from sitting over night WTF

Still waiting in the western Chicago suburbs. Are there that many Epics out there that this takes so long to roll out?

I'm in upstate New York and just got mine.

Does anyone know how to return the phone COMPLETELY to stock? I deleted media hub (as well as some other unwanted apps), and now I can't install the update.
I tried the hard reset and the reset from the reboot screen. Both didn't fix my problem.

Thanks.

I'm going to try following this when I get home. Looks like it's what I wanted. I'll post results here in case anyone is experiencing the problem I mentioned above.

UPDATE: It worked like a charm. Update installed without a hitch...now I know not to delete stock samsung/sprint apps.

Worked perfectly. Back to stock (pre-update). Nice! :D
