Sept 10 T-Mobile G3 Update

You are very perceptive. That camera shortcut was not in there before. Also I have noticed an improvement in the auto screen brightness. And this might be just my mind playing tricks with me, but the responsiveness of the touch (especially when tapping the unlock code to go straight to the home screen) is way better now. Other than that I have not noticed anything.

I received it too. One thing I noticed (Unless I've been oblivious to it this entire time) is a different way to access the camera from the lockscreen by swiping from the icon on the bottom right. Also the addition of the "Emergency call Press and hold button" (Again, unless this has been there the entire time)

Just noticed the same thing. I'll look throughout the day for other improvements.

The direct opening of Camera by swiping the camera icon on the lock screen was a feature of the last update I received, v10h European.

I swear i've had a camera icon there for ever that could open up the app. Now i just don't remember if i changed it manually when i first got my phone..

Is anyone having issues actually getting the update to work? Mine says restart and install and when I select that it counts down to reboot and just sits there. Nothing happens.

Its new with the update, only when the screen is locked with a code or pattern it's there not with just swipe. Its a nice add!

Got mine this morning as well. I am definitely noticing my device is much smoother. A noticeable improvement. This is great!

I already had a camera icon as one of my shortcuts on the lock screen, and didn't notice anything new. Can anyone take a screen shot of the new camera icon thingy?

Got the new update! I am definitely noticing an increase in overall performance. The phone just feels smoother especially when jumping in and out of apps with multitasking. The camera on the lock screen feature is pretty cool but it is still a lot easier to open the camera using the long press on the volume down key. You don't even have to see the lock screen and the camera is up which is great when you need to snap a picture quickly. Most times the camera is up before it's out of my pocket lol. Despite the overall improvement I am still having lag with my phone dialer. Whenever I dial a phone number I am waiting for the numbers to catch up to where I am in the number. I have removed my speed dial and a couple other things to see if I can get it to get back up to speed but with only very minor improvements. Is anyone having a similar issue with their phone dialer app?

Anyone notice if VoLTE is enabled? I heard this is supposed to enable it.
VoLTE is a Verizon thing if i'm not mistaken. Tmobile already supports HD voice when both callers are on T-Mobile, so most likely the update won't enable VoLTE. If anything an update might make your phone compatible with whatever verizon has planned, whenever they decide to do it. lol

You are wrong!

I also lost root after the update. Stump root no longer worked for me, but I was able to get my root access back through PurpleDrake, as posted on the Android development thread on XDA
Root always disapears after an ota.
