Seriously thinking of going back to my BlackBerry Storm...

I'm a K-9 user as well for my Yahoo account and am fine with it. Only complaint is the whole known issue when Wifi is turned on, but not a big deal. I just jump to the browser version of YMail when I'm on Wifi anyway. ;=)

Another bad thing about the android platform regarding emails is that since its not pushed but more checked every 10/30/hour or whatever to see if theres a new email it leads to battery drain issues.

But i've never been a big email person anyway so leaving my storm2 is gunna be one happy day.

Why do people have to be so rude this person is obviously trying to ask for help and suggestions. They are stuck in their ways for a reason it works for them so please either give some helpful advice or just don't say anything. If you want this community to thrive you shouldn't make comments like "don't let the door hit you on the way out" that is just not called for. I'm just saying. That is my 2 cents. David

you have 2 way sync with gmail on BB now. I forget what BIS upgrade gave us this.

A year with the storm and now that I left it behind they finally have the main feature I wanted most from with that phone...that figures :(

What do you mean not pushed? I got email from my job instantly upon arrival and interestingly enough, it's not draining the battery.

Something else I couldn't get with my blackberry because my job didn't offer BES so I had to use astrasync to get my work email.

There were suggestions to fix what he's asking about, but responses like "but I don't wanna use gmail, I don't wanna have to delete from my phone or desktop" basically translates to "waaaaaah, I want my email! Waaaaah!"

I also have one new piece of advice....Google chat, or any IM client available in browser format for pc. No yahoo issues, and the one who wears the pants can sit at her desk and run the show (assumption, based on how adamant OP is about not wanting to change. Gotta run new things by the ol' lady)

LOL....that's f***** up...LOL

Yahoo has browser chat available in the same screen you check your email. Have your wife use it.

Second, are you seriously considering a change back, or are you blowing of steam? You have said both.

As for the email deleting, if you get creative you can find a way around this.

Good luck.

I read somewhere that Androids have to check for emails instead of instantly being pushed to them on like a BB. Maybe it was just a certain widget or something, i could be wrong.

Isn't there a way to set GMail refresh rates on your phone? If you're a heavy email user you can set it to every five minutes or something.

only gmail and exchange/activesync are pushed. the rest are set up with a poling time in between whent he phone sends a request to their servers

And why is everyone forgetting about labels???!?!?! If you want it off your phone and still on the server all you have to do is check whatever messages and take the inbox label off it.......

I too came from the Storm. I just setup my Gmail to check my various POP and IMAP accounts and it all gets pushed to my DINC. I created label rules so each email is labeled with the account that it came from. So, I now have the universal inbox I had with the Storm. Works for me!

I am still trying to figure out the label thing with gmail. I went ahead and set my yahoo mail to forward to my gmail account. But where do emails go when you click Archive?

Hey Tatts, thanks for the support but I have learned to just ignore chumps like Patches. He probably sets around in his tighty whiteys hoping to get a rise out of someone so he can do a little joystick action. LOL

This thread is one that probably shouldnt have been started. The Storm IS setting on the desk all charged up because I DID get frustrated with my email, which is very important to me. As i stated, due to working different shifts i never see my wife so we communicate through the day via email. Her work will not allow chat and such. But email is fine and many times she has lawyers and other higher ups at her desk. Email alerts are common due to her work so does not cause a flag (plus office managers has stated she does not mind employees emailing spouses n such). So it is important to me that my emails are sent AND receiced in a timely manner.

I got frustrated the other day....was just a bad day and I was both venting AND asking for tips/help figuring out how to maximize my enjoyment of this incredible phone (pun intended! LOL). I do love this phone and bash on my iphone buds all the time as how the Inc is such a better phone....friendly rivalry!
