Set Chomp SMS as default on lock screen

I am running current stock unrooted ROM. Is there a way to get chomp SMS or hand cent to show on the lock screen circle instead of the stock messaging app?

I cannot disable the stock app in app settings like I did last time.

Also, not looking to use a lock screen replacement. Thanks.

Not unless you're willing to root your phone, unfortunately. Then it's as simple as disabling the stock SMS app. Sorry!

I need to follow up with a correction to my previous post. Unlike Go SMS Pro and Handcent, you must have the stock SMS app enabled when using ChompSMS. Otherwise, you won't be able to view received SMS messages (although you will be able to send them).

Your only real option is to use a lock screen replacement like WidgetLocker, and that requires root for full functionality.
