Setting up my new s8 and now it’s asking for passcode? Haven’t set one up?

Transferring data onto New s8 and screen went off so swiped it to come back on and it’s asking for a passcode but I haven’t set one? Help

Can't help.. a pass code was set up. You can not circumvent this screen. If it is a new phone then return it.

Have you tried putting in a code of your choice? Maybe it's asking you to set one up for the first time? Did you purchase it new or used?
Did you set up fingerprint unlock?

It was setup before, and it sounds like a used 2nd hand.

Did they guy who sold it to you for $200 in the parking lot give you his number so you can call for assistance?

If you bought it used, seller probably didn't remove account so factory reset protection is still in place.
